Who we are and what this policy covers
Arktana LLC ("Arktana," "we," "us") is a Washington limited liability company that operates a clothing, footwear, handbag and accessories boutique at 425 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, Washington 98607, and the website arktana.com, including our men's department, Bigfoot Mountain Outfitters. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, shop with us online or in store, or communicate with us; who we share it with; and the choices you have.
Our website runs on Shopify. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share limited information with the advertising, analytics and marketing partners named below — and we do not do so until you have agreed to it through the cookie consent banner that appears when you first visit.
Information we collect
You give us directly:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address.
- Order details — what you buy, return or exchange, and payment information. Card numbers are processed by Shopify Payments and are not stored by Arktana.
- Account details — login, saved addresses, wish lists, and rewards-program activity if you join.
- Messages you send us by email, phone, text, social media or our contact form.
Collected automatically when you use the website (only as permitted by your cookie choices):
- Device and connection details — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size, language, time zone.
- Activity on our site — pages and products viewed, items added to cart, searches, time on page, and the site or ad that referred you.
- Identifiers set by cookies and similar technologies, described in the next section.
From third parties: Shopify (which hosts our store and processes orders), advertising platforms (for example, that you clicked one of our ads), and shipping carriers (delivery status).
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as health, biometric or precise geolocation data.
Cookies, pixels and tracking — how consent works on our site
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Pixels and tags are small pieces of code that send information to a partner when a page loads or an action happens. We use three kinds:

When you first visit arktana.com, a cookie consent banner appears. No analytics or marketing cookie, pixel or tag runs, and no data is exchanged with any analytics or advertising partner, until you click "Accept." If you click "Decline," only strictly necessary cookies are used. "Manage preferences" lets you allow one category and not the other.
You can change your mind at any time: use the Cookie preferences link in the website footer, or clear cookies for arktana.com in your browser and the banner will appear again on your next visit. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to decline marketing cookies and to opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising.
We do not use session-replay or screen-recording tools, and we do not have a live-chat widget on the site.
Who we share data with
We share personal information only with the companies below, only for the purpose stated, and — for every analytics and advertising partner — only after you consent. Each partner handles data under its own privacy policy, linked here.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it (a subpoena or court order), to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under some state laws, sharing data with advertising partners for targeted ads counts as a "sale" or "sharing"; you can opt out at any time — see Your choices and rights.
How we use personal information
- To fill your order — process payment, ship, handle returns and exchanges, send order and shipping confirmations.
- To run your account and rewards — keep your saved details, wish list and points.
- To answer you — respond to questions and requests.
- To market to you, with your permission — send emails or texts you signed up for, and show you our products in ads on other platforms if you accepted marketing cookies.
- To understand and improve the site — see which products and pages people use, if you accepted analytics cookies.
- To keep the store safe — detect fraud and abuse, secure accounts and payments.
- To meet legal obligations — tax records, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our terms.
We do not use your information to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use automated profiling beyond ordinary product recommendations.
Your choices and rights
Cookies and tracking. Change your choice any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing cookies for arktana.com. Declining stops all analytics and marketing tracking on this site going forward.
Marketing emails and texts. Click "unsubscribe" in any email, or reply STOP to any text. We will still send order and account messages.
Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising. Use the Do not sell or share my personal information page (also linked in the footer), or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. We honor GPC automatically.
Access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information. Email Ann@arktana.com or call 360-210-4077. We will verify your identity and respond within the time your state's law requires (usually 45 days). You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof of authorization. We will never treat you differently for exercising a right.
State-specific notes.
- Washington residents: We do not collect consumer health data as defined by the My Health My Data Act.
- California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with privacy laws: the rights above apply as provided by your state's law; you may appeal a denied request by replying to our response.
- Florida residents: We obtain your consent through the cookie banner before any third-party analytics or advertising script places identifiers on your device or receives your browsing data.
- European Economic Area and United Kingdom visitors: we rely on your consent for cookies and marketing, and on contract for orders; you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track. Browsers' older "Do Not Track" signals have no agreed meaning; we honor Global Privacy Control instead.
Retention, security, children and changes
How long we keep information. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally seven years). Account and rewards data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Email and text subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics and advertising identifiers expire according to each partner's cookie lifetime, typically 30 days to 2 years, and are not placed at all if you decline.
Security. We use Shopify's PCI-compliant hosting and payment processing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limit staff access to customer data. No system is perfectly secure; please keep your account password private.
Children. Our site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy. When we make a material change — for example, adding a new advertising partner — we will update the effective date at the top, post the new policy here, and re-display the cookie consent banner so you can make a fresh choice.
